FAQ
Registration & Requirements
How much does it cost to join the team?
Registration fees are tiered based on when you sign up. All registration levels include a team t-shirt, though sizes may be limited for anyone registering after May 8. We recommend signing up early to ensure your child gets the correct size.
| Early Bird Registration (By May 8) | Late Registration (After May 8) | |
| First Swimmer | $120 | $130 |
| Additional Swimmers | $110 each | $120 each |
| Mini Gators | $75 (Coach-led) | $75 (Coach-led) |
Does my child need to know how to swim before joining? Yes. For safety and regional alignment, new swimmers must be able to swim independently. If your child is a new Gator, please contact Kyle Hoffman to schedule an evaluation.
- 6 & Under: Must swim 15 yards independently.
- 7 & Older: Must swim 25 yards independently.
- Note: If your child isn't there yet, local organizations like Goldfish, RSA, TAC, Lifetime, or WAVE can help them prepare. They are welcome to join the team mid-season as soon as they meet this requirement!
What if my child has anxiety about meets or specific strokes? Don’t let that stop you from signing up! We want to cultivate a love for the sport and the team. Special accommodations can be made. Please contact Amber Coleman to arrange a discussion with the coaches.
Parent Involvement & Volunteering
Is volunteering required? Yes. Our team and meets cannot function without parent volunteers. To keep your child’s membership active, each family is required to fulfill a specific number of points (typically around 7 points per season).
How many meets are there? There are 7 events total:
- 1 Time Trials event
- 3 Home meets
- 3 Away meets
What happens if I don’t sign up for volunteer slots? If a family does not meet the point requirement, jobs may be assigned to you. You can find job descriptions and point values under the "Volunteer and Swimmer Sign Up" tab on our website. For more details, contact Jill Miller.
Coaching & Communication
Can I speak with the coaches during practice or meets? To allow our coaches to focus on the kids and their safety, please refrain from addressing them directly during active practices or meets unless it is an emergency.
Who should I contact if I have a concern? If you have questions or concerns regarding coaching, please reach out directly to Amber Coleman or Kyle Hoffman.
